there is this musician called Fela Anikulapo Kuti - one of the best in world music. anyway, our man, apart from being a kickass saxophonist was also a complete eccentric if ever there was one. HE built a fence around his house and called it The Kalakuta Republic. It had a flag, national anthem, colour and all that jazz too! what a fundoo guy! i was thinking how cool it would be to have a The Republic of Sam. sighhhh....
